The Bates Art Center was proud to be
one of the hosts of the 2003 Filmmakers Open studios. HOME
Inc.'s artist-in-residence, Adam
Schatten screened footage from his three part documentary
series-in-progress, on the progression of the AIDS epidemic.
New Voices-New Visions presented
a staged reading (above) of a major new work at the Bates
Art Center Theater. Among the actors taking the stage for
the reading were New Voices-New Visions’ founders,
Peter Berkrot and Karen Lundh, Gregory Moss, Nickie Fuller
and Andre Dubus III. The public reading of “Voices
from the Moon” was followed by a brief forum hosted
by Film Producer, Laura Bernieri ( “ Next Stop Wonderland”)
on the process of adapting original materials for the screen.
