Home, Inc. presented a workshop at the
Video Educators of New England Conference, at Mount Wachusett
Community College on October 22nd. Over 30 teachers, administrators
and educational cable channel representatives participated
in HOME’s workshop, entitled "EVERYBODY WANTS
TO BE A DIRECTOR!" The workshop presented the tools
of media literacy that are being developed as part of the
HOME, Inc./ Boston Public Schools Media Literacy and Health
Project, funded by the U.S. Department of Education and
the National Endowment for the Arts.
Participants saw examples of how teachers
and cable system public access coordinators can help students
make the connection between media content and engaging inquiry
based student projects that encourage life long learning.
There were over 25 participants in the workshop representing
